The Alhambra 5P from Alhambra Guitars. The soundboard of this Spanish classical guitar is a major influence on the full-bodied, warm and rich sound this instrument produces. It consists of a thin piece of softwood that is supported by 7 braces, with 2 harmonic bars at the bottom. The qualities of the woods used include a close grain count and high stiffness to mass ratio, which allow maximum output for the minimum input, and contribute to its resilience, light weight and resonance. Beautifully hand-made in Spain, with an inlaid wooden rosette, this guitar is the perfect example of the love the Alhambra guitar makers have for their craft. The neck of the guitar features an internal ebony reinforcement. For the construction of the body of the 5 P model, which together with the top is what most influences the sound of the guitar, we have used an internal bars design consisting of a thin wood that is supported by seven bars, two of them on the lower part. This construction system contributes to a stronger, yet lighter instrument, as well as improving the sound, giving it more body, warmth and richness.
